Sinking Ship Entertainment Lands Plush Deal with Safari Ltd For Greybeard in Apple TV+’s Jane Series

 

Toronto, Canada (September 25, 2023) – Sinking Ship Entertainment (SSE) announced today it has inked a deal with educational toy company Safari Ltd® for a new plush toy based on the CG rendered chimpanzee character Greybeard from the highly anticipated series JANE which released earlier this year and is currently streaming on Apple TV+. Produced in association with the Jane Goodall Institute, the live-action/CG-hybrid kids and family series follows nine-year old Jane Garcia as she embarks on fantastical adventures with her friends to help save wild animals around the world.

In the tv series, Greybeard is both Jane’s stuffy toy and imaginary friend and chimpanzee, offering comedic relief and companionship. Safari Ltd will be developing a variety of sizes of plush, based on the character, aiming to be on retail shelves in 2024.

Jane, the series, was recently nominated for the prestigious Television Critics Association Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming, and nominated for three Directors Guild of Canada Awards. In April 2023, Apple TV+ and SSE launched the museum exhibit based on Jane, Jane’s Endangered Animal Experience, at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, produced in partnership with Flying Fish Exhibits.
